Those who thought they might be attending an in-person NAFCU conference this year can go ahead and move their suitcases into storage.
The trade association announced Tuesday that all of its remaining 2020 events have been moved to a virtual format. Credit unions can register for any of the following six events at a reduced cost compared to the originally-planned, in-person events:
- Virtual Congressional Caucus, Sept. 14-15. Confirmed speakers include former U.S. Secretary of State Dr. Condoleezza Rice; Dr. Larry Sabato, founder and director of the University of Virginia Center for Politics, bestselling author and election analyst; Small Business Administration Administrator Jovita Carranza; CFPB Director Kathy Kraninger; NCUA Board Member Todd Harper and House Financial Services Committee Ranking Member Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.).
- Virtual Lending Conference, Oct. 14-15
- Virtual Regulatory Compliance Seminar, Oct. 27-30
- Virtual Risk Management Seminar, Nov. 17-19
- Virtual Management and Leadership Institute, Dec. 1-3
- Virtual CFO Summit, Dec. 9-10
"NAFCU's passion and commitment to delivering extreme member service has only grown as credit union executives and board members face mounting challenges due to the coronavirus pandemic," NAFCU President/CEO Dan Berger said. "Now more than ever, credit unions need the tools and resources to navigate today's environment and NAFCU has proactively redeveloped the remainder of our 2020 conferences into virtual platforms. While our members' health, safety and well-being remain paramount, attendees will still receive the full NAFCU experience with the same high-level quality and service they have come to expect from us."
