Representatives from 17 credit unions and credit union partners in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware commemorate their efforts to raise $220,000 to purchase and donate 30,000 Personal Protective Equipment medical gowns to health care facilities throughout the three states. On July 15, donors gathered at the main campus of the $3 billion, Philadelphia-based American Heritage Federal Credit Union to pack the gowns into a fleet of vehicles for distribution.

The $1 billion, Baton Rouge, La.-based Neighbors recently launched its "Every Swipe Counts" campaign to raise $30,580 for the food bank, committing five cents for every qualified debit card purchase from its Free Cash Back Checking accounts from April 1 through June 30.

A squad of staff members from the $45 million, Indianapolis-based NorthPark Community Credit Union visits a local gas station to provide $10 to each customer as well as information on ways the credit union can lend a helping hand during these trying times. In the first two weeks of the initiative, which took place throughout July, NorthPark Community gave over $2,000 to more than 200 people. In addition, it offered a chance for one lucky winner to win free gas for a year ($2,500 value). Royal Credit Union ($3.2 billion, Eau Claire, Wis.) is donating $20,000 plus an additional $10,000 for a match campaign to the Frogtown & Rondo Community Business Recovery Fund in Minnesota. The fund supports local businesses, many owned by people of color, which experienced damage during recent unrest in St. Paul. Three community groups work together to manage the fund – Summit-University Planning Council, Frogtown Neighborhood Association and Victoria Arts Theater Center. An executive committee is making award decisions and going door-to-door to talk with local business owners and see the needs firsthand. Some of the most common needs include replacing large-pane windows on storefronts and removing graffiti (pictured here in the Frogtown & Rondo neighborhood).

The Gateway Performing Arts Center ("The Gateway Playhouse") of Suffolk County in Bellport, N.Y., receives a $10,000 grant from the $1.3 billion, Medford, N.Y.-based Suffolk Federal Credit Union. Suffolk administered this small business relief grant from the Home Loan Bank of New York, created to support the financial security and health of workers who are employed by organizations that have been severely impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. Employees of the $4.9 billion, Endwell, N.Y.-based Visions Federal Credit Union participate in a community giveback challenge for local food banks leading up to their annual Employee Appreciation Day. Over 6,900 food items were collected from more than 50 branches across New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. Because all branches and departments participated in the challenge, Visions is donating an additional $3,000 to food banks in the communities it serves.
