The NCUA issued one prohibition notice Friday against Elka Maria Arrechavala, a former employee of the $5.6 billion Space Coast Credit Union.

She is the fourth former employee of the Melbourne, Fla.-based financial cooperative to be banned by the independent federal agency since 2017.

In February, Arrechavala was sentenced by a state court judge for organized fraud, embezzlement, elderly theft and criminal use of personal identification.

Court documents regarding her crimes and sentencing disposition were not available online.

Although the NCUA's prohibition notice states Arrechavala's judgement order document is made part of the federal agency's notice, the NCUA did not provide a copy of that judgement order document when requested by the CU Times on Friday.

In addition to Arrechavala, three other former Space Coast CU employees have been banned from the NCUA, including Brandon Corey Suarez in Dec. 2019, Elizabeth Nelson Cobb in March 2018 and Brittney Merisier in May 2017.

The prohibition notice bans Arrechavala from participating the affairs of any federally insured financial institution.
