St. Louis Credit Union Opens New MLB Plaza
Together Credit Union announces a new public plaza for socially-distanced watching of Cardinals baseball games.
With the return of Major League Baseball this week, Together Credit Union has announced a strategic partnership with Ballpark Village in St. Louis that includes its sponsorship of a recently completed outdoor plaza.
The St. Louis-based credit union said in a July 20 statement that the 40,000-square-foot plaza by the Cardinal’s Busch Stadium currently features tabled seating for more than 300 guests and a state-of-the-art LED screen for watching games. Outdoor dining is also available, and additional offerings of live music, entertainment and games would be available throughout the year as conditions around the coronavirus pandemic improve.
“While we currently aren’t gathering in ways we once did, we are confident Together Credit Union Plaza will soon become the premier gathering point downtown for sporting and entertainment events and we are proud to be a partner in this effort,” Paula Anderson, Together’s vice president of corporate strategy and brand, said in a statement.
Ballpark Village, a mixed-use retail, entertainment, office and residential district in downtown St. Louis, first opened in 2014 and encompasses the seven city blocks directly surrounding the stadium. Construction of a residential tower and office building started in 2017 and recently wrapped in time for baseball’s return.
“Together Credit Union Plaza is an exciting addition to Ballpark Village,” Mike LaMartina, chief revenue officer for Ballpark Village, said. “This new centerpiece of Ballpark Village will be an important gathering place for the community for events and activities throughout the year. We couldn’t ask for a better community partner than Together Credit Union to bring our new space to life.”
Anderson added: “Ballpark Village has done an amazing job to create a beautiful, open and public space where fans, tourists and our community can come together safely to enjoy the Cardinals season as well as other sporting and entertainment events.”
With more than $2 billion in total assets, Together has 27 branches and 137,000 members across the country.
