PSCU announced a partnership with the Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions to enhance leadership programs focused on women and young professionals.

The partnership, announced on June 25, will allow the CUSO PSCU, which supports 1,500 credit unions with payments relating to members' credit and debit cards, to share its expertise with the Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions, the leadership and charitable arm of WOCCU.

"We've got subject matter expertise that helps to benefit the organization," Merry Pateuk, SVP of industry engagement for the St. Petersburg, Fla.-based PSCU, said. "What we're doing, in particular, is working on two specifc initiatives: One having to do with women in leadership, and the other having to do with young professionals."

In particular, she said, PSCU will provide $50,000 in funding to sponsor several initiatives of Worldwide Foundation's Global Women's Leadership Network and the World Council Young Credit Union Professionals. Among those initiatives is an executive readiness summit for the Global Women's Leadership Network scheduled for Oct. 28-30 in Madison, Wis., and a technical guide on digital tools for credit unions.

PSCU also will continue to provide resources on cybersecurity and member spending habits in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We're looking at transactions this week versus last year," Pateuk said. "What do they look like? Where are people shopping? Not shopping? Using debit or credit cards? What places are they going? To the grocery store? Is anyone traveling? We track with analytics, and those resources are put out there for the credit unions regardless of whether they're U.S.-based or worldwide."
