League of Southeastern Credit Unions Joins 'Open Your Eyes' Initiative

LSCU will fundraise and launch the campaign in Alabama, Florida and Georgia.

The League of Southeastern Credit Unions board of directors said Monday it has agreed to endorse and join CUNA’s Open Your Eyes to a Credit Union campaign.

“The unprecedented events in our nation have underscored and elevated the unique purpose and capabilities of credit unions,” Jared Ross, LSCU’s president, said in a prepared statement. “Now is when consumers need a financial relationship that supports them and their best interests, long term. That’s why we’re excited to support this national campaign aimed at increasing consideration for credit unions and growing the credit union industry market share.”

Ross said LSCU will work with CUNA’s credit union awareness team to fundraise and launch an OYE campaign for 333 credit unions throughout Alabama, Florida and Georgia.

Twenty-one other states are currently operating OYE campaigns.

The campaign’s objective is to raise consumer consideration of credit unions and ultimately connect more consumers with credit unions as their best financial partner.

Last month, the OYE campaign was restarted after a two-month hiatus because of the health and economic coronavirus crisis.
