Michele Dean was appointed president/CEO of the $1.2 billion Suffolk Federal Credit Union in Medford, N.Y.
She succeeded Ralph D. Spencer, Jr., who will be retiring this month. He will work in partnership with Spencer to shift management responsibilities beginning June 15.

Dean launched her career in financial services as a Merrill Lynch sales associate in 1992. Three years later, she joined the $9.7 billion Bethpage Federal Credit Union in Bethpage, N.Y., as senior vice president of lending and investments, a position she held for more than 19 years.
After working as a management consultant, she joined the $3.5 billion Jovia Financial Credit Union in Westbury, N.Y., as its chief lending officer in 2016 and was later promoted to chief strategy officer.
William J. Mellin, president/CEO of the New York Credit Union Association in Albany, said that Dean is joining an impressive and growing list of top executives because women now hold the majority of CEO positions among the Empire State's 328 credit unions.
Dean is the first woman CEO in Suffolk's 52-year history, which now serves nearly 62,000 members.
The $250 million AERO Federal Credit Union in Glendale, Ariz., appointed Michael Moyes president/CEO.
He will succeed Preston Sanders, who is retiring.

Moyes served as president/CEO for the $115 million Coloramo Federal Credit Union in Grand Junction, Colo. He also worked as CFO for the $170 million Pinal County Federal Credit Union in Casa Grande, Ariz., and as vice president of strategic, lending and operation solutions with the Michigan Credit Union League in Lansing.
AERO serves more than 19,000 members.
Kirtland Federal Credit Union President/CEO Tom Shoemaker said he plans to retire at the end of 2020.
He was named interim president/CEO for the Albuquerque, N.M., credit union in October 2017 and was appointed to that post in May 2018.
Shoemaker worked in the banking industry for 45 years and joined Kirtland in 1993.
The credit union manages $792 million in assets and serves more than 47,000 members.
A search for his successor is underway.
