The NCUA issued one prohibition notice Thursday against Tanya Greene-Smith, a former employee at the $10 million Northwood Federal Credit Union in Philadelphia.

According to Pennsylvania court documents, Tanya Greene-Smith, 42, was originally charged in September 2019 with 170 criminal counts of theft, forgery, records tampering, identity theft, receiving stolen property, and access to a device to obtain property or service.

In a plea deal with prosecutors, Greene-Smith agreed to plead guilty to 24 charges including theft, forgery and records tampering.

Philadelphia Common Pleas Court Judge Robert P. Coleman sentenced Greene-Smith last March to three months to 23 months in state prison for one of the theft charges. For the remaining 23 charges, she received supervised probation.

The former credit union employee also was ordered to pay $119,928 in restitution, according to state court records.

The NCUA's prohibition notice means Greene-Smith is banned from participating in the affairs of any federally-insured financial institution.
