CUNA, WOCCU Cancel Summer Conference in Los Angeles

Weeks after believing the conference would still take place, both groups announce the cancellation.

CUNA and WOCCU announce the cancellation of the World Moving conference.

CUNA and WOCCU announced the cancellation of the World Moving: A Joint Credit Union Conference on Monday.

According to a joint statement issued by the organizations, “The decision was made by the groups in accordance with recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Los Angeles Convention Center and the Los Angeles Visitors Bureau.”

The combined conference was set to take place July 19-22 in Los Angeles.

Last month, in an interview with CU TimesWOCCU Director of Meetings and Expositions Christi Swoboda said that they were not cancelling or changing the location of the conference, believing there was minimal risk at that time.

Monday’s statement provided some clarification concerning refunds for attendees, “The registration fee, including tour and guest registration, will be fully refunded to attendees, and attendees are reminded to resolve their travel and lodging reservations accordingly.”
