CO-OP Financial Services is moving its well-known THINK conference to August due to health concerns about the Coronavirus outbreak.
"We have been carefully monitoring the public health concerns surrounding the Coronavirus outbreak," CO-OP President and CEO Todd Clark said in a statement. "After careful consultation with a number of our clients, board members and stakeholders, and in an abundance of caution, we have made the decision to postpone the THINK 20 conference and move the dates from May 4-7 to August 17-20 in Dallas."
The Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.-based payments and technology company said it will offer THINK 20 content in May via a one-day virtual conference event. Details on that will be available in coming weeks, it added.
People already registered for THINK 20 will be automatically registered for the digital event in May and for the in-person event in August, CO-OP said. People who can't attend the rescheduled event have until August 1 to cancel and get a full refund, it added.
"Our THINK conference regularly attracts more than 800 attendees and, again, it is for their health and safety that is paramount to our decision," Clark said. "We thank everyone in the credit union movement for their understanding and we look forward to seeing you later in the summer."
The cancellation comes amid an ongoing flurry of conference reschedulings, cancellations and reconsiderations across the credit union industry.
