CUs Raise Funds for Turning Points for Children, Kids in Crisis & Care and Share

Employees from the $2.3 billion TruMark Financial Credit Union in Fort Washington, Penn., participate in a Team Teddy Bear Rescue program organized by TeamBonding at the credit union’s annual meeting on Feb. 17, 2020, held at the Radisson Hotel in Valley Forge, Penn. Employees assembled teddy bears that were donated to Turning Points for Children’s foster care program, which provides safe and healthy homes for more than 500 children in Philadelphia.
Employees from the $517 million BMI Federal Credit Union in Dublin, Ohio present a staff donation to Columbus Humane! This donation will directly benefit the organization’s Defend Your Friend 5k as well as its cruelty investigation department. BMI is a regular supporter of Columbus Humane and its mission.

Kaycee Childress, executive director of the Northwest Federal Credit Union Foundation, the charitable arm of the $3.4 billion, Herndon, Va.-based NWFCU, poses for a photo with members of the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Department in Herndon. The NWFCU Foundation recently held its second annual Kids in Crisis drive, collecting more than 400 plush toys, blankets and other comfort items for local first responders to provide to children in crisis situations. The NWFCU Foundation kicked off the drive by visiting four fire stations in Herndon, Fairfax and Reston, Va., and two police stations in Ashburn, Va., and Herndon. During the visits, the NWFCU Foundation provided lunch vouchers and koozies in partnership with Mission BBQ of Chantilly, Va.
Employees from “team teal” from the $170 million, Waterville, Maine-based New Dimensions Federal Credit Union hold the results of a year-long fundraiser. They incorporated the hashtag #TeamTeal into marketing and social media conversations as a representation of their commitment to volunteerism and fundraising. Three checks were distributed to the Maine Children’s Cancer Program, Special Olympics Maine and the Maine Credit Union League’s Ending Hunger Campaign, all totaling $39,006.81, which exceeded their goal by far.
