The Irvine, Calif.-based CU Direct, a developer of lending software technology for the credit union industry, announced the launch of Origence, a new brand for its products and solutions serving financial institutions.

CU Direct said the Origence brand is another step in the company’s expansion to serve the indirect, consumer and mortgage lending needs of financial institutions through a single enterprise origination platform. The new product brand represents its focus on leveraging its expertise in “origination” and “experience,” to enable consumers and lenders to effortlessly move through the loan process in a continuously evolving lending environment, according to a statement from the organization.

CU Direct will remain a tech-driven CUSO, offering the new market-facing Origence brand for credit unions and other financial institutions, as well as continuing the CUDL brand for auto dealers. The company, which started with the CUDL indirect lending network in 1994, currently serves more than 1,100 financial institutions nationwide, helping originators fund more than $215 billion in loans over the last 25 years.

“For 25 years, CU Direct has continually evolved, developing industry-leading products and services, and disrupting longstanding processes to help credit unions win,” CU Direct President/CEO Tony Boutelle, said. “Now, as we build the ultimate origination experience, the new Origence brand will create greater clarity of our breadth of solutions, as well as communicate our vision for the future of lending.”
