CUNA Revives Voter Registration 'Get Out the Vote' Website
The campaign is part of CUNA’s Member Activation Program, which is designed for CUs to encourage members to engage in advocacy.
CUNA on Monday announced the relaunch of the “Credit Unions Vote” campaign in an effort to encourage members to vote in the November elections.
“Credit unions understand that elections directly affect their members,” CUNA Deputy Chief Advocacy Officer for Political Action Trey Hawkins said. “With the ‘Credit Unions Vote’ campaign, we will be reaching out to America’s credit unions to make sure they understand how these elections affect them as part of a credit union community, and to encourage their members to get out and vote this November.”
CUNA officials said recent data showed that 44% of registered voters are credit union members.
By visiting creditunionsvote.com, members can register to vote, participate in early voting and locate their polling place. And members who use social media may share their posts using #CreditUnionsVote.
The campaign is part of the trade group’s Member Activation Program, which is designed for credit unions to encourage members to engage in advocacy. The program allows individual credit unions to customize content. The program also has a virtual community to ask questions, get feedback and share results with credit unions across the country.
