Investigators at the Altus Police Department said the credit union's records show Carney allegedly transferred funds from accounts of three deceased members and two other active account holders. She allegedly used the stolen funds to pay for credit card debts, phone and electric bills and other personal charges.

What's more, Carney also is accused of embezzling $18,000 from the Altus Soccer Club. She was the club's treasurer since March 2016, police investigators said.

Carney is being held at the Jackson County jail in Altus pending a court hearing.
