The Ascentra Credit Union Foundation presents a $100,000 grant to Junior Achievement of the Heartland at a special celebration for the credit union’s new home office. The grant will be used to help youth better understand financial concepts and gain confidence in their ability to manage their financial future. The grant will be distributed over a five-year period with support continuing through the 2023-2024 school year. The donation is part of Bellco’s season-long sponsorship of the Colorado Rockies Base Hits for Boys & Girls Clubs program. For each base hit the Rockies made during the 2019 season, Bellco donated $10 to Boys & Girls Clubs.

The $208 million First Capital Federal Credit Union in York, Penn., supported Preschool Pals Day at the York Fair by supplying First Capital bags for all to enjoy. Preschool Pals Day, courtesy of radio station Froggy 107.7, provides free admission to the fair for both preschoolers and an accompanying adult.

The $3 billion SAFE Credit Union in Folsom, Calif., worked with Juma Ventures Sacramento to secure a $20,000 AHEAD grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco’s AHEAD Program to support Juma’s efforts to secure employment for youths ages 16 to 24 from underserved communities. The AHEAD Program provides grants via its member financial institutions to local community groups providing services that create benefits for low- and moderate-income communities. FHLBank San Francisco awarded $1.5 million in grants to 55 projects in 2019 to promote stability and self-sufficiency in communities in Arizona, California and Nevada. Juma Ventures Sacramento will use the AHEAD grant to support its YouthConnect program, which provides employment with food concessionaires at Sacramento professional sports facilities for young adults grappling with economic challenges.
