Brooks Named Hood’s Chief of Staff
Brooks has experience in the financial sector and on Capitol Hill.
H. Lenwood Brooks V has been named chief of staff to NCUA Chairman Rodney Hood.
Brooks joined the NCUA staff in May and has been acting chief of staff and director of the Office of External Affairs and Communications.
“Since joining the team, Lenwood has played an integral role in agency policy and communications,” Hood said. “He also has been important to furthering my initiatives for the NCUA and the nation’s system of cooperative credit.”
Prior to joining the NCUA staff, Brooks was vice president of communications at the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association.
Brooks also served as an aide to Sen. Roger F. Wicker (R-Miss.) during the senator’s tenure on the Senate Banking Committee.
“I look forward to supporting Chairman Hood in advancing his initiatives to create a regulatory environment that grows the economy,” Brooks said.
Brooks holds an undergraduate degree in managerial finance and insurance and risk management from the University of Mississippi.
He also holds a master’s degree in economic and workforce development from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Brooks also earned a certificate from the Securities Industry Institute, an executive education program at The Wharton School.
