WEST

The $455 million UNCLE Credit Union in Livermore, Calif., hired one employee and promoted another.

Karl Goin

Karl Goin was hired as vice president of marketing. Goin will be responsible for overseeing the marketing team and provide strategic direction to strengthen brand awareness and member engagement, drive membership and build market opportunities through key community partnerships. Before joining UNCLE, Goin served as vice president of marketing for a $3 billion credit union from 2015 to 2018.

Fidela Hernandez

Fidela Hernandez was promoted to vice president of operations. In her new role, Fidela will focus on optimizing workflow productivity and resource management, while ensuring compliance with organizational standards and promoting operational excellence.

Prior to assuming the role of vice president of operations, Fidela served as UNCLE’s assistant vice president of operations for six years.

Michelle Brands Giesea

The $4.5 billion Redwood Credit Union in Santa Rosa, Calif., hired Michelle Brands-Giesea as project management manager. In her new role, she will lead the project management team in overseeing the credit union’s project portfolio, including new product launches, service enhancements and other enterprise projects, and will ensure project integration with RCU’s strategies and organizational initiatives. Prior to joining RCU, Brands-Giesea worked for CamelBak for 12 years as a sourcing manager, overseeing service and product sourcing strategy to support the company’s operations and productivity.

EAST

Leanna L. Meiser

The board of directors at the $5 billion PSECU in Harrisburg, Penn., appointed Leanna L. Meiser, senior manager of workplace productivity and technology for The Hershey Company, to director of the board at the credit union. Meiser has served as associate director since 2016. At The Hershey Company, Meiser leads workplace productivity and technology learning and development of more than 4,000 employees including staff in marketing, sales, innovation, supply chain and financial systems.

Dan Ford

The $3 billion NEFCU in Westbury, N.Y., named Daniel Ford, D.Sc., chief information officer, responsible for all aspects of information technology, cybersecurity and digital banking. Dr. Ford brings more than 20 years of information technology, cybersecurity and risk management experience to the position. As chief information officer, Dr. Ford will utilize his experience in building technology programs and cybersecurity to ensure that NEFCU and its members will be provided innovative technology products that have a core focus on security and privacy.

MIDWEST

Candice Gleason

The $1.2 billion Interra Credit Union in Goshen, Ind., promoted Candace Gleason to vice president of operations support. In her new role, she leads a variety of departments that encompass operational support to the credit union and its members. Since Gleason joined the Interra staff just more than five years ago, she has held leadership positions in branch management and operations.

Josh Murphy

The $2.6 billion First Community in Chesterfield, Mo., promoted Josh Murphy to assistant vice president of loss prevention. Murphy has been with First Community for 12 years and was a previously the manager of fraud.

SOUTH

Melanie Braddock

The $979 million First Florida Credit Union in Jacksonville, Fla., hired Melanie Braddock as digital marketing manager. The new position reflects the credit union’s growing focus on implementing high-level digital strategies designed to enhance its members’ online experience. Braddock will focus on driving development and execution of the credit union’s digital and inbound marketing strategies, including social media, online user experience and electronic products and services.

TRADES

Becca Durr

CUNA appointed Becca Durr as director of advocacy. In her role at CUNA, Durr will be responsible for managing the association’s relationships with Democrats on a variety of key advocacy issues. She brings more than 10 years of governmental affairs experience to CUNA’s team of lobbyists who develop and execute advocacy strategies that address top credit union priorities at the national level. Prior to joining CUNA, Durr was the regional director of political affairs at the American Medical Association.

VENDORS

CU Engage hired Nell DeMattia as director of operations. She brings more than 20 years of business process optimization, transformation and expansion experience to CU Engage. DeMattia primary focus at CU Engage will be to optimize the consulting and business analyst operations and provide best practices around efficiency management to our credit union clients. Prior to joining CU Engage, DeMattia was director of execution services at Fiserv Strategy and Innovation.

AGENCIES

Johnny E. Davis, Jr

The NCUA appointed Johnny E. Davis, Jr. as special advisor to the chairman for cybersecurity. Davis currently serves as the NCUA’s division director for critical infrastructure, a role he will continue to fill along with this new responsibility. Davis has more than 25 years’ experience in information security and infrastructure operations in the military, federal government and private sector. Prior to joining the NCUA in 2015 as chief information security officer, Davis served as the director of critical infrastructure protection for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
