WEST

Solynn McCurdy

The $20.4 billion BECU in Tukwila, Wash., hired Solynn McCurdy as SVP of cooperative affairs, overseeing community outreach, communications and cooperative community advocacy. Prior to joining BECU, McCurdy served as CEO at Social Venture Partners Seattle and led social impact programs at Premera Blue Cross. Before that, he worked as the director of external affairs at Seattle University, where he stewarded regional strategies in community engagement.

Chris Chippindale

Chris Chippindale, COO at the $2.5 billion Canvas Credit Union in Lone Tree, Colo., joined the CU Service Network Board of Managers in June 2019. The nine-person board represents financial executives from around the country dedicated to the cooperative spirit of the credit union industry. CUSN brings to life the foundational values of credit unions to share ideas, resources and innovative solutions in order to help create an even brighter future for all credit union members.

Tom Ernsperger

The $943 million One Nevada Credit Union in Las Vegas, Nev., promoted Tom Ernsperger to EVP and chief lending officer. Ernsperger will oversee all aspects of the company’s consumer lending, residential real estate, commercial lending, loan servicing and collection operations. Additionally, he will serve as director for One Nevada Insurance, LLC and assist the president in overall credit union leadership, executive and administrative matters.

MIDWEST

The $724 million LAFCU in Lansing, Mich., promoted two employees.

Amy Parker

Amy Parker was promoted to vice president of finance. Parker is responsible for the operations of the finance and accounting departments, including regulatory reporting, budget preparation and liquidity management as well as ongoing operational analysis. She succeeds recently retired controller Don Killian. Parker has worked in LAFCU’s accounting department for nine years, serving as accounting manager from 2014 to 2017 and as assistant vice president of accounting since 2017.

Terri Carie

Terri Carie was promoted to vice president of card services. Carie is responsible for managing LAFCU’s credit and debit card portfolios, enhancing card programs and improving member experiences through technology and staff development. The Eaton Rapids, Mich., resident brings nearly 30 years of experience at credit unions to her new position. Before leading LAFCU’s card services department as assistant vice president, she was assistant branch manager of the credit union’s Owosso and Corunna branches.

Katie Greene

The $45 million Millstream Area Credit Union in Findlay, Ohio, promoted Katie Greene to COO. In her role, she will oversee branch operations and information technology and also continue serving as compliance officer. Greene has been with the credit union since 2004 where she worked her way up from a member service representative position.

SOUTH

Jerome Whitney

The $2.9 billion Keesler Federal Credit Union in Biloxi, Miss., named Jerome Whitney as branch manager of the new Mid-City branch, the company’s first in the Orleans Parish. Whitney will oversee branch operations, which will include traditional savings and deposit banking services, as well as supervising and managing staff. He has extensive banking experience in the New Orleans, La., area.

Eric Jenkins

The $268 million Education Credit Union in Amarillo, Texas appointed Eric Jenkins as president/CEO. Jenkins brings extensive credit union industry experience, having worked for credit unions of varying asset sizes as well as CUSOs. He comes to the credit union from the $1.3 billion Georgia United Credit Union in Duluth, Ga., where he held the role of chief deposit services officer since 2014. In that role, Jenkins directed all areas of operations at the credit union, including loan and deposit operations, card services, payment services and member support services.

James Schenck

The $24.4 billion PenFed Credit Union in McLean, Va., announced that El Tiempo Latino, the largest Spanish-language newspaper in Washington D.C., named PenFed President/CEO James Schenck to the Powermeter 100 List. The Powermeter 100 honors individuals for their contributions to the Hispanic community in the greater Washington area. Under Schenck’s leadership, PenFed has committed to hiring Latino employees in the company’s growing Bilingual Service Centers and currently fields 20% of all service calls in Spanish. In addition to creating over 300 jobs for Latinos across America, PenFed donated $700,000 to empower Latino students to achieve college education and partnered with 10 public and private high schools to teach Latino students financial literacy.

Jan Hood

Extensia Financial, a CUSO specializing in commercial real estate lending nationwide, hired real estate finance professional Jan Hood as business development officer. She has more than 20 years of commercial real estate lending experience and is positioned to help expand Extensia’s lending footprint, and leverage lending and loan participation platforms nationwide. Hood is a former vice president at George Smith Partners, where she helped to establish a successful northwest commercial real estate lending office. She also worked as an independent commercial mortgage banker and broker for more than 10 years.
