13 Credit Union Employees Celebrate New Roles

Cooperatives across the U.S. announce hires, promotions and appointments.

CU professionals start new positions.

WEST

The $1.3 billion Oregon State Credit Union in Corvallis, Ore., announced three employee moves.

Renata Walker

Renata Walker, previously the assistant branch manager at the credit union’s Sunset branch in southwest Corvallis, has taken over leadership as branch manager for the Philomath location at 1446 Main Street. She started with Oregon State CU in 2011 with the centralized services department and moved into management roles within her first five years at the credit union.

Danelle Kindred

Danelle Kindred moved laterally from branch manager of the Monmouth, Ore., branch to the Albany branch in the Heritage Mall block. A 25-year Albany resident, she started with Oregon State CU in 2009 and moved into her first of three management roles in 2013. She had previous experience in banking and as a real estate broker.

Laura Martinez

Laura Martinez was promoted to branch manager at the credit union’s Monmouth location. Martinez started her career with the credit union in May 2006 as a financial services consultant and has held the role of assistant branch manager in Keizer, Ore., for the past six years. Prior to joining Oregon State CU, she had four years of credit union experience.

Steve O’Donnell

The $916 million One Nevada Credit Union in Las Vegas, Nev., promoted Steve O’Donnell to EVP/CFO. O’Donnell will oversee all aspects of the financial operations and information technology functions for the credit union. In his expanded role, O’Donnell will assist the president in overall credit union leadership, executive and administrative matters. He joined One Nevada in 1997 and has been instrumental in planning and directing the financial operations of the credit union.

EAST

Susan Crawford

The $305 University Credit Union in Orono, Maine promoted four managers. Susan Crawford was promoted to operations manager. Crawford’s tenure with the credit union spans more than 15 years, having served in various roles across the credit union’s retail service, lending and call center areas.

Ariana Harris

Ariana Harris was promoted to branch manager at the 139 Rangeley Rd. location in Orono. Harris joined the credit union in 2014 and has demonstrated excellent member service skills, a command of University CU policies and procedures, and a friendly, positive attitude in several member service roles, including most recently as assistant branch manager at the same location.

Randy Manzo

Randy Manzo was promoted to campus branch manager at the University of Maine, Memorial Union campus branch. Manzo joined University CU in 2017 as a member service representative in Portland, Maine and has used his upbeat, outgoing and energetic personality to deliver excellent member service.

Madison Gray

Madison Gray was promoted to branch manager at the 391 Forest Ave. location in Portland. Gray joined University CU in 2010 as a member service representative at that location and was later promoted to MSR supervisor and most recently assistant branch manager.

Rachelle DeHoratius

The $2.1 billion TruMark Financial Credit Union in Fort Washington, Penn., named Rachelle DeHoratius vice president of human resources. In her new role, DeHoratius will lead the human resources specialties team, which includes recruiting, talent management compensation, payroll, employee relations and performance management. DeHoratius brings more than 15 years of experience in the human resources field, most recently serving as a consultant for MHD Consulting in Doylestown, Penn.

MIDWEST

Vonda Dickey

The $180 million St. Cloud Financial Credit Union in St. Cloud, Minn., appointed Vonda Dickey to vice president of organizational development. She will be accountable for development of organizational and business unit strategies with particular emphasis on talent management. Dickey brings nearly 14 years of credit union experience and more than 20 years in management.

SOUTH

Ricky Otey

The $1.6 billion Sharonview Federal Credit Union in Fort Mill, S.C., promoted Ricky Otey to EVP, an expansion of his existing role as COO. In Otey’s expanded role, his responsibilities now include leading and influencing day-to-day operations, culture and strategic leadership of Sharonview. He will articulate company and member needs and plans to the executive leadership team and board of directors. Additionally, he will have direct oversight and management of various lines of business.

Joseph Nowland

The $386 million Jax Federal Credit Union in Jacksonville, Fla., appointed Joseph “Joe” Nowland president/CEO, effective April 1, 2019. He succeeds Gerri Sexsion, who will retire on March 29 after 21 years as president/CEO. Nowland brings extensive experience in several areas of credit union leadership, including member services, retail operations, business banking, risk management, strategic planning and performance management. Nowland, a seasoned executive with more than 24 years of experience in the financial services industry, has held numerous staff and executive positions in several locations throughout the Southeast.

Alan Hansford

The $957 million Amplify Credit Union in Austin, Texas appointed Alan Hansford to chief risk officer, a new position that will oversee enterprise risk management for the organization. Previously serving on Amplify’s board of directors and as a member of its audit committee, Hansford has a strong understanding of the credit union’s strategy and is certified as a credit union enterprise risk management expert by CUNA.
