Scott Credit Union Gets a Bit of the St. Louis Blues

The five-year deal also includes naming rights for a club next to the rink.

Scott Credit Union, which serves the St. Louis metro area, is now one of the sponsors of its NHL hockey team.

The St. Louis Blues and the credit union announced a five-year deal that will make the Scott Credit Union name and logo visible to fans through advertising in the team’s home in the 19,000-seat Enterprise Center in downtown St. Louis near the Mississippi River.

Scott Credit Union ($1.2 billion in assets, 144,480 members) has its headquarters across the river and 25 miles to the northeast in Edwardsville, Ill. Its headquarters is in the metro area, its field of membership includes Missouri’s St. Louis County and it recently opened its first branch in the county at I-170 and Ladue Road, 10 miles west of the arena.

Frank Padak, the credit union’s president/CEO, said the deal will aid its growth in St. Louis County and the rest of the metro area.

“When you think of the Blues, you think of their long history and strong fan base in the metro area. Having a partnership with us really helps to get our message out to Blues fans on both sides of the river,” Padak said.

“This partnership really increases our visibility in our efforts to educate people throughout the area about the great value they get when they choose to do business with us,” he said.

St. Louis-based Enterprise Rent-A-Car signed a 15-year naming rights deal in May for the arena, which opened in 1994 and had been called the Scottrade Center since 2006.

Scott Credit Union will be featured on signage in the arena and in concourse areas during events there. The agreement also includes naming rights to the new, limited-access Rinkside Club and Pub ‘67 (the team’s NHL franchise was granted in 1967) inside of the newly renovated Enterprise Center.

“We’re calling this one a ‘club within a club’ where members can expect heightened levels of service plus superb libations and edibles,” according to a news release in April to promote the renovations. The news release described Pub ’67’s “vibe” as “very private, yet relaxed and refined” that “allows for an unmatched socialization setting due to the space being exclusive to Glass Row A members.”

Adam Koishor, the credit union’s chief marketing officer, said about 560 all-inclusive seats will have access to the Rinkside club and Pub ‘67.  “The naming rights to the Club is big deal for us,” he said.

Scott Credit Union now has a partnership with the two major professional sports franchises in St. Louis, the other being the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team.

“We are proud to have naming rights for seats in the venues of the two pro sports franchises in St. Louis,” Koishor said.
