Virginia Beach police are not revealing why a woman slashed a Navy Federal Credit Union employee last week.
According to court documents cited by local media reports, Shontrina Fountain, 39, of Virginia Beach, slashed the throat of a teller at the Navy FCU's Providence Road branch on Aug. 24. The employee was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries and was expected to make a full recovery, according to police and local media reports.
Police declined to identify the employee or report her current condition when contacted by CU Times Thursday.

Navy FCU did not address specific questions regarding the employee and her condition, but did release a statement.
"The safety of our members and employees is our first priority," a Navy Federal spokesperson said. "Employees have access to and are encouraged to participate in several support services provided by the credit union. Because this is an active investigation, questions about this specific incident should be directed to the Virginia Beach Police Department."
Police said Fountain is currently being held in a Virginia Beach jail without bond. She appeared in court on Wednesday sitting in a wheelchair and requested that she be admitted to a psychiatric hospital, according to local media reports. Her bond hearing is set for Sept. 4.
Soon after Fountain fled the branch in her car, police managed to corner her.
As officers approached the car, Fountain continued not to comply with their commands. Although an officer used a Taser gun on the suspect, it did not work.
According to police, Fountain quickly got out of the car. Holding a weapon, she lunged at one of the officers. Local media reported the weapon was a knife. One of the officers shot Fountain who fell to the street.
The officers repeatedly commanded Fountain to drop her weapon before she was shot, according to local media reports. She was taken to a hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
During the course of the police investigation, it was determined that the injuries sustained by Fountain were not that of a gunshot wound. Police did not say how she was injured.
Fountain is facing one count of malicious wounding and one count of felony assault on a police officer.
