Xceed Financial, Alabama One, NCUA Hire Talent
Eight credit unions, one CUSO and the NCUA share People news this week.
This past week, eight credit unions, plus the NCUA and CUSO CU Capital Market Solutions, shared news of new hires and promotions.
WEST
The $915 million Xceed Financial Credit Union in El Segundo, Calif., named Kelly Ritchey-Davoren chief people officer. Ritchey-Davoren will help guide organizational development through cultural enhancement while working to implement new and ongoing leadership initiatives. Ritchey-Davoren previously worked at Internet Brands, where she served as the vice president of human resource programs and projects.
The $976 million Bay Federal Credit Union in Capitola, Calif., hired Kenny Au as vice president of product management. He will be responsible for product development and overseeing a number of departments, including card services, loan services, deposit production and deposit services. In his role, Au will look for ways to leverage technology to streamline processes and implement service improvements. He will also develop Bay Federal’s financial product offerings. Au brings more than 20 years of experience in the financial industry, where he has held a variety of management roles.
EAST
The $1.3 billion APG Federal Credit Union in Edgewood, Md., hired Rita Boothe as mortgage consultant to its team of real estate lending professionals. Boothe joins the credit union with more than 10 years of experience in financial services with skills in loan origination, budgeting, and finance and risk management. As the newest mortgage consultant at the credit union, Boothe brings with her a professional history in a variety of personal banking and mortgage leadership roles with both credit unions and banks.
The $232 million Ukrainian Federal Credit Union in Rochester, N.Y., promoted Maria Milazzo to chief lending officer. Milazzo has a master’s of business administration from the Rochester Institute of Technology, and has more than 25 years of experience in underwriting and lending. She spent the past 11 years at Ukrainian FCU and has previously worked with other lending institutions.
MIDWEST
The $2.3 billion Royal Credit Union in Eau Claire, Wis., hired Pam Haller as EVP-chief digital experience and marketing officer. In this role, Haller is responsible for the strategic oversight of Royal’s marketing, advertising, digital experience and business development initiatives. Haller will also collaborate in strategic planning and organizational decision-making as a member of the executive team. Haller has more than 20 years of experience in marketing.
SOUTH
The $961 million Member One Federal Credit Union in Roanoke, Va., promoted Patience O’Brien to SVP, corporate projects. O’Brien joined Member One in July 2016 as vice president, corporate projects to manage infrastructural and procedural projects throughout the credit union. In the ensuing two years, O’Brien has successfully led and completed many projects that are considered key to Member One’s efforts to enhance both the member and employee experience.
The $1.2 billion Y-12 Federal Credit Union in Oak Ridge, Tenn., promoted Mike McCullough to branch manager for the Eagleton location. McCullough joined Y-12 in 2011 as a member service consultant at the Maryville branch. He continued his progression through the ranks and was promoted to assistant manager for the Eagleton branch in March 2017. As the branch manager, he will continue to oversee the daily branch operations and manage the team.
The $610 million Alabama One Credit Union in Tuscaloosa, Ala., hired three new team members to its roster in recent months.
Dantrel Robinson was hired as marketing manager. Robinson brings a wide range of experience in both traditional and trending marketing efforts. In the last 10 years, Robinson has contributed to the growth of a large faith-based organization, seeing its social media and app-based engagement grow by as much as 50% in less than one year. He also led creative teams of copywriters, designers and editors at multiple levels, executing marketing plans on both local and global levels.
Bobby Umfress was hired as senior network engineer. Umfress brings nearly 20 years of experience in the field of networking and systems administration to the position. He most recently served as an IT operations manager, Umfress prepared IT budgets, consolidated and streamlined work flow, and managed all help desk services.
Chynell Berry was hired as learning and development manager. Berry brings a strong background in corporate training in the financial industry. Having secured credentials as a master instructional designer and a synchronous trainer, Berry has spent the last seven years working alongside sales and support efforts at a credit union outside the Alabama market.
CUSOs
CU Capital Market Solutions hired Lynn Brown as funding coordinator. She will work in CMS’ Atlanta office. Brown will assist CMS client credit unions in structuring accounts and funding. She will assist with CMS’ unique non-member deposit and CD programs. Brown brings diverse professional experience to CMS, working in the finance, non-profit and executive training industries.
AGENCIES
The NCUA selected Matthew J. Biliouris as director of the Office of Consumer Financial Protection at the NCUA headquarters. Biliouris has been serving as the acting director of the Office of Consumer Financial Protection and previously served as the office’s deputy director. Biliouris began his career with the NCUA in 1992 as an examiner in Portland, Maine.
