The board of directors for the $64.8 million RelyOn Credit Union in Dallas appointed Sarah Spooner as its new president/CEO.

She succeeded Brant Hicks who left in March to become president/CEO of the $180 million Great River Federal Credit Union in St. Cloud, Minn.

Spooner joined RelyOn CU, formerly Employees CU, in May 2017 at its CFO.

She previously served as an AVP member executive for Corporate One Federal Credit Union, a senior lending executive consultant for CU Direct and an area manager for Grow Financial Federal Credit Union. Spooner also worked as an assistant branch manager for Regions Financial and as a financial services representative for Wells Fargo.

“Over the past year, I have seen first-hand all of the changes that RelyOn Credit Union has been implementing to help us provide a better and more streamlined banking experience for our members,” Spooner said. “This is an exciting time for us as and I feel honored to be a part of this team.”

RelyOn CU serves more than 6,500 members.
