New credit union CEO announcement.

David Milligan has succeeded Ruth Jenkins as president/CEO of Heritage Federal Credit Union in Newburgh, Ind., the board of directors said Tuesday.

Jenkins retired after 11 years of service.

Under her leadership, the credit union grew from $300 million to $576 million in assets and from 31,263 members to 57,569 members. In addition to expanding its branch network, products and services, HFCU's jobs increased from 105 full time and 19 part-time positions to its current 170 full-time and 23 part-time staffers.

Before joining HFCU in January 2007, Jenkins also served as CEO for the $127 million Northeast Arkansas FCU in Blytheville, the $616 million Del Norte CU in Sante Fe, N.M. She was also CEO for Smart and Final Employees FCU and OCHA CU, which are inactive.

"Ruth leaves Heritage Federal Credit Union in a very strong position for future growth and we sincerely thank her for her contribution and leadership during her tenure as CEO," Steve Crow, HFCU board chair, said.

Milligan's CEO appointment became effective immediately, the credit union said in a prepared statement.

He previously served as HFCU's vice president of e-Services and deposit support operations and most recently was the chief risk officer.
