CUES, CUNA Mutual Group, CUs Welcome New Hires
Six credit unions, plus major industry organizations, reveal People news this week.
This past week, six credit unions from coast to coast announced new hires and promotions. Plus, CUNA Mutual Group appointed a board member and CUES hires a new executive.
WEST
The $275 million Cabrillo Credit Union in San Diego promoted two employees.
Kelli Davis was promoted to director of retail operations. Davis will be responsible for overseeing the performance and growth of Cabrillo’s five branches and call center. Davis began her career at Cabrillo in 2014 as a member support and card services supervisor before being promoted to member support manager in 2015.
Atifa Aguirre was promoted to director of sales and engagement. She will be responsible for managing the member solutions agents team, CUDL dealer relations, branch business development and community relations. Prior to her promotion, she served as the director of retail operations.
The $10 billion America First Credit Union in Riverdale, Utah, selected Justin Garrett as service center manager of the Bountiful Smith’s branch. Garrett began his career with America First in September 2012 as a teller at the Bountiful Dick’s branch and was promoted to the backup lead teller one year later at the North Salt Lake Winegar’s branch. He later served as the service center lead teller, and in May 2015, Garrett transferred to the Clearfield Kent’s branch.
The $2.1 billion Numerica Credit Union in Spokane, Wash., promoted three employees to SVP positions.
Jennifer O’Callaghan was promoted to SVP of marketing. O’Callaghan has more than 22 years of experience in marketing with an emphasis on retail, direct response, web, digital and traditional advertising campaigns. She was hired at Numerica in 2014 and was previously at SMITH for 14 years where she was the SVP and managing director of client services.
KayCee Murray was promoted to SVP of information technology. Murray has been with the credit union for 18 years. In that time, she served in various managerial roles within Numerica’s information technology department. She eventually moved to strategic leadership roles, managing staff, and overseeing essential online and mobile banking programming systems.
Andy Stirling was promoted to SVP of Central Washington region. Stirling has more than 13 years of experience in the financial industry with nearly 10 years in leadership and management roles. He has been at Numerica for two years and had previously been at US Bank in Kennewick, Wash., where he accumulated more than five years of commercial lending experience and served as regional president of retail.
MIDWEST
The $3.7 billion Veridian Credit Union in Waterloo, Iowa, promoted one employee and hired another.
Dustin Ganfield was promoted to core systems automation administrator. Ganfield, a resident of Cedar Falls, Iowa, has worked at Veridian for 15 years. He is an active member of the Cedar Heights Baptist Church and a Cedar Valley Soccer Club coach.
Mandy Roundy was hired as contact center analyst. Roundy, a resident of Waterloo, was an operations analyst II at CBE Companies.
SOUTH
The $2.6 billion Keesler Federal Credit Union in Biloxi, Miss., named Jason MacDonald chief information officer. MacDonald comes to Keesler Federal Credit Union from the $1 billion Central Minnesota Credit Union in Melrose, Minn., where he served as SVP of information technology for three years and vice president of information technology for nine years. Prior to his time at Central Minnesota Credit Union, MacDonald served as director of information technology at Pinnacle Financial Group for five years.
The $2.3 billion Truliant Federal Credit Union in Winston-Salem, N.C., appointed Anderson Langford to COO. Langford will lead and develop the strategic vision for Truliant’s Member Financial Center network, consumer and business lending teams, and the Truliant Financial Advisors and Truliant at work teams. Langford joins Truliant with more than two decades experience in the financial services industry. Prior to his appointment, he served as an examiner with the FDIC in Atlanta, helping improve risk management practices and operational efficiencies.
VENDORS
CUNA Mutual Group appointed Kevin D. Johnson to its board of directors, replacing director Bert J. Hash, Jr., who is retiring after 13 years of service. Johnson is president/CEO of the $9.1 billion Suncoast Credit Union of Tampa, Fla. He has spent more than three decades in the financial services industry, all at Suncoast. Before being named president/CEO in 2016, Johnson spent 16 years as the credit union’s SVP, and then EVP and chief information officer.
TRADES
CUES hired Jimese Harkley as vice president of membership. Harkley previously served as partner and COO at DiverCity Solutions. She has also served as the stewardship and development director at Filene, and in a variety of roles at the $1.5 billion America’s First Federal Credit Union in Birmingham, Ala. She brings more than 10 years of credit union experience to her new role.
