Credit unions kick off the summer with board appointments, new positions, hires and promotions.

Nine credit unions across the country kicked off summer 2018 with a number of personnel announcements, including newly-created positions, board appointments, new hires and promotions. Check out the latest People news here.

WEST

The $700 million Clark County Credit Union in Las Vegas hired Nicole Johnson as a social media coordinator. As the first social media coordinator with the credit union, her main responsibilities will be creating and maintaining social media pages and profiles, as well as assisting with other communications and marketing activities. She will also build and execute social media strategies designed to help reach new CCCU members through research, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification.

The $444 million UNCLE Credit Union in Livermore, Calif., hired Ted Huntington as vice president of marketing. The addition of this key leadership position marks the first executive hire since the credit union expanded its branch network with two strategic mergers in January and March of 2018. Huntington will oversee both the marketing and business development teams in creating and executing strategies to deepen member engagement, enhance brand loyalty, build market awareness and grow membership. He is a marketing executive with more than 25 years of experience.

MIDWEST

The board of directors of the $2.1 billion Nusenda Credit Union in Albuquerque, N.M., elected new board leadership.

Ann Brooks, who has served as the board's vice chair, will serve as the board's new chair, succeeding Judy Cartmell.

The board also accepted the resignation of board member Dick Brown, a lifelong New Mexican who served on the credit union's board for 30 years. Brown also worked as an educator and school administrator in Albuquerque for 35 years. Current Nusenda Supervisory Board Member Randy Trask was appointed by the credit union's board to serve out the remainder of Brown's term. Trask is founder and president of the New Mexico Trade Alliance and has been on the supervisory board since 2015.
