Michigan CU CEO Elected Board President of CO-OP
Three other executive leaders are elected to board officer positions.
Allan Kemp McMorris, president/CEO of the $367 million Oakland County Credit Union of Waterford, Mich., was elected May 9 by the board of directors of CO-OP Financial Services to serve as its board chair.
He succeeds Jeff Napper, president/CEO of the $1.4 billion LBS Financial Credit Union in Long Beach, Calif., who served as the CO-OP board chair for the past two years.
McMorris joined the board of the Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.-based CUSO in 2010 and served as the board’s vice chair and chair elect.
He has been CEO of OCCU since 1990. He formerly served as the board chair for the National Credit Union Foundation, CUNA & Affiliates and the Michigan Credit Union League.
Three other credit union executive leaders who were elected to officer positions on CO-OP’s board included Chuck Purvis who was elected vice-chair and chair elect. He is president/CEO of $2.9 billion Coastal FCU of Raleigh, N.C.; Benson Porter who was elected board treasurer. He is president/CEO of the $18.6 billion BECU of Tukwila, Wash., and Joan Opp who was elected board secretary. She is president/CEO of $2.4 billion Stanford Federal Credit Union in Palo Alto, Calif.
