The $796 million Great Lakes Credit Union in Bannockburn, Ill., announced Friday that Steven J. Bugg will become its new president/CEO on May 21.

He will succeed former President/CEO Vikki Kaiser who retired last October after 25 years of service at GLCU.

For more than a decade, Bugg held executive positions at the $549 million Heritage Federal Credit Union in Newburgh, Ind., where he most recently served as its executive vice president He previously worked as HFCU's chief marketing and member service officer and as vice president of marketing and business development.

He began his career in banking and holds professional experience in consumer, indirect, mortgage and commercial lending, and branch management.

Bugg also worked in the telecommunications industry, where he was responsible for marketing, alternative distribution, strategy, sales and operations for several organizations.

GLCU operates 11 branches throughout the Chicago area and serves more than 86,000 members.
