CUNA has promoted Eddie Rivera to be CFO of the nation's largest organization representing credit unions.

He replaces Brian Nelson, who retired in December after 30 years with CUNA and six years as SVP and CFO.

Rivera joined CUNA in 1994 after graduating from the University of Wisconsin with a bachelor's degree in accounting. He was previously CUNA's vice president of finance and controller.

The CUNA news release said Rivera “brings a deep understanding of business operations and has a history of strong, collaborative working relationships with internal departments and external partners at CUNA.”

Jim Nussle, CUNA's president/CEO, said Rivera “exemplifies CUNA's core values. His leadership experience, financial and business planning expertise will help support CUNA's purpose to deliver value to our members.”
