CUs Recognize Career Achievements

Ten credit unions announce new hires, promotions and appointments this week.

This past week, 10 credit unions from coast to coast revealed recent career moves made by their employees. Check out the latest People news here.

WEST

Rachel Clerico

The $875 million Greater Nevada Credit Union in Carson City, Nev., named Rachel Clerico marketing manager. In her new role, Clerico oversees GNCU’s marketing department staff and manages initiatives and activities, including database marketing and research, advertising and community relations for GNCU and its subsidiaries, Greater Nevada Mortgage, Greater Commercial Lending and Greater Nevada Insurance. Clerico has more than 20 years of marketing, manufacturing and distribution management experience.

Doug Martinez

The $650 million Christian Community Credit Union in San Dimas, Calif., named Doug Martinez president/CEO. Martinez succeeded John Walling who retired in 2017 after faithfully serving for 45 years, including 39 years as president/CEO. Martinez began his career with American Standard, Inc. where he held several management positions including managing director of a $100 million international business segment.

Lorrell Walter

The $140 million Western Vista Credit Union in Cheyenne, Wyo., promoted Lorrell Walter from vice president of marketing and member experience to SVP of marketing and member experience. Walter has been a member of the credit union’s executive leadership team since December 2016. The promotion acknowledges the significant impact she has had on enhancing corporate culture and improving internal communication, while continuing to focus on growth and member development in the communities served by Western Vista.

Steve Stone

The $1 billion 1st United Credit Union in Pleasanton, Calif., appointed Steve Stone president/CEO, succeeding Victor Quint. Stone began his career at 1st United in 1991 and brings with him a vast wealth of knowledge and experience. Stone has led many divisions at the credit union, including collections, lending, human resources, audit and compliance, and most recently served as CFO.

EAST

Jennifer Marble

The $148 million Homefield Credit Union in North Grafton, Mass., hired Jennifer R. Marble as SVP, chief lending and credit officer. Most recently, Marble served as vice president/commercial credit officer at Country Bank. Prior to that she held management positions at Marlborough Savings Bank, Webster First Federal Credit Union, Digital Federal Credit Union and Benjamin Franklin Savings Bank. She brings a wealth of experience to Homefield.

Maria Jimenez

The $3.3 billion SECU in Linthicum, Md., named Maria Jimenez to serve as a community market leader. In her new position, Jimenez will focus on growing and developing SECU’s presence in the Silver Spring community through the credit union’s new location there. She will also support overall membership growth and community development for SECU’s network of 22 branches. Jimenez comes to SECU from First United Bank and Trust, where she served as a community market manager. She has eight years of experience in banking and auto sales.

Christine Lane-Monette

The $505 million IC Federal Credit Union in Fitchburg, Mass., promoted Christine M. Lane-Monette to SVP and CFO. Lane-Monette joined the credit union in October 2005 as vice president of finance and has played a pivotal role in driving the business unit’s growth and profitability and improving its overall finance operations. Lane-Monette has been in the banking industry since 2001 and brings a wealth of experience to the role. She has previously held positions as an internal auditor, staff accountant and financial analyst.

Maxine Cacciotti

The $833 million St. Mary’s Bank in Manchester, N.H., hired Maxine Cacciotti as senior indirect lending business development officer. Cacciotti brings 21 years of experience in business development, dealership relations, customer service and credit union advocacy. Before joining St. Mary’s Bank, Cacciotti most recently cultivated relationships between dealerships and credit unions as a dealer sales representative and area sales representative with CU Direct Corporation.

MIDWEST

Stephen Jorgensen

The $644 million LAFCU in Lansing, Mich., hired Stephen Jorgensen as assistant branch manager, assigned to the LAFCU contact center located at the mid-Michigan credit union’s headquarters in west Lansing. In the new position, Jorgensen works with contact center employees to increase efficiency and job satisfaction as well as develops schedules for the 16-person contact center branch.

Carrie Frost

The $1.2 billion Firefly Credit Union in Burnsville, Minn., promoted Carrie Frost to senior small business advisor. In her new role, Frost is creating lasting relationships with small businesses in the Twin Cities communities. In her previous position, Frost served as the retail sales manager at Firefly’s Fridley branch for more than three years. She has 10 years of experience in the financial services industry.
