CUs Recognize Employee Career Moves, Awards
Seven credit unions celebrate employee milestones this week.
From coast to coast this past week, seven credit unions recognized a total of 12 professionals for new positions, promotions and accolades.
WEST
The $11.4 billion Golden 1 Credit Union in Sacramento, Calif., promoted three leaders to new executive positions.
Tom Genessy was promoted to EVP – service operations, security and technology. Genessy joined the credit union nearly 13 years ago and most recently served as the SVP – COO. Throughout his tenure, Genessy has been dedicated to Golden 1 members and employees, and its commitment to security, safety and operations.
Chad Carrington was promoted to SVP – security, technology infrastructure, and facilities. Carrington joined Golden 1 in 2008 and most recently served as vice president of information technology. His vast knowledge of technology helps ensure members can rely upon Golden 1 for financial strength and security.
Kathy Flynn is now the SVP – service operations. Flynn served as vice president, account services since 2014. She exemplifies Golden 1’s mission to deliver financial solutions with value, convenience and exceptional service to members.
The $7.2 billion Alaska USA Federal Credit Union in Anchorage, Alaska, selected two individuals to fill executive-level positions.
June Gardner was selected as vice president of operations. Gardner has more than 17 years of industry experience and has worked for Alaska USA for the last three years. She was a recipient of the Alaska Journal Top 40 Under 40 award for demonstrating professional excellence.
Elizabeth Rense Pavlas was promoted to SVP, operations. Pavlas has worked for Alaska USA for nine years in positions of increasing responsibility. Most recently she served as vice president, electronic services.
The $8.2 billion San Diego County Credit Union in San Diego, Calif., announced Ashlee Micale, CFO and EVP, was named CFO of the Year by the San Diego Business Journal, a San Diego-based weekly business newspaper. Micale was recognized for the role she plays in the success of SDCCU, including her oversight in business intelligence, preparation for growth and enterprise risk management.
The $4 billion Redwood Credit Union in Santa Rosa, Calif., hired Tracy Weitzenberg as manager of the communications and public relations department. Weitzenberg will lead a growing communications team charged with sharing information and news about the credit union and its subsidiary, RCU Services Group. Prior to joining RCU, Weitzenberg was vice president of public policy for the Santa Rosa Metro Chamber of Commerce.
EAST
The $1.3 billion Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union in Lowell, Mass., promoted one employee and hired another.
Michael Dubuque was promoted to SVP and chief market development officer. Dubuque joined the credit union in 2012 as vice president of loan origination. His most recent responsibilities included expanding the credit union’s business services portfolio and increasing business membership. He will now oversee the credit union’s eight full service branches as well as continue to manage secondary market sales of the credit union’s mortgage portfolio.
Mark O’Neil was hired as SVP and chief administrative officer. O’Neil will be responsible for human resources, member contact, collections, employee development and the executive administration areas. O’Neil has more than 25 years of management experience and is the former president and publisher of the MediaNews Group/Digital First Media in Lowell, Mass.
The $1 billion Suffolk Federal Credit Union based in Medford, N.Y., promoted Nancy Aurora as branch manager of the credit union’s Islandia Branch at 1282 Motor Parkway. In this position, Aurora is responsible for developing new business relationships, meeting credit union goals of increased membership, and loan and deposit growth. She manages all branch operations, performs regular analysis of production and sales data and participates in local community affairs. Aurora has been employed at Suffolk Federal since 2010.
SOUTH
The $2.1 billion Atlanta Postal Credit Union in Atlanta hired one employee and promoted another.
Thomas Domingue was hired as vice president of lending. Domingue will oversee the consumer, mortgage and commercial lending functions. Previously, he was vice president of loan services at a credit union in Florida. Domingue brings with him extensive experience in branch operations, collections, loan origination and loan servicing.
Yolanda Hunt was promoted to APCU’s call center manager. Hunt has worked at the credit union since January 2015. She began her career at APCU as a teller before becoming a call center representative. Most recently, Hunt served as a member service representative at APCU’s main branch. Prior to joining APCU, she spent 23 years at another Atlanta financial institution as a senior assistant operations manager and assistant vice president, implementation consultant.
