Businessmen compete for success.

This past week across the country, six credit unions revealed new hires and promotions. In addition, the Kentucky Credit Union League and Filene Research Institute welcomed new executives to their teams.

EAST

Megan Brady

The $578 million Align Credit Union in Lowell, Mass., promoted Megan Brady to branch manager for its Danvers location at 110 Newbury St. She will oversee daily operations, business development and member service. Brady joined Align in 2011 as a teller and advanced to the position of member service representative before becoming branch manager.

 

Allan Villatoro

The $148 million Homefield Credit Union in North Grafton, Mass., promoted Allan Villatoro to vice president, business lending and development officer. Villatoro joined Homefield in February 2014. Prior to joining the credit union, he was a business development officer at UniBank. Villatoro currently serves on the board of directors for the Milford Area Chamber of Commerce and the Milford Regional Medical Center Healthcare Foundation Fundraising Committee. He is also a committee member with the Worcester Young Businessmen's Association.

Stephen Tedesco

The $58 million Stamford Federal Credit Union in Stamford, Conn., appointed Stephen Tedesco as vice president of commercial lending and business development, a new position for the credit union. Drawing from nearly 30 years of experience in new consumer, real estate and commercial loans, Tedesco will manage and lead the credit union's commercial lending function and expand access to all Stamford Federal's products and services throughout southern Fairfield County.

SOUTH

Shannon Frost

The $188 million Coca-Cola Credit Union in Atlanta appointed Shannon Frost to vice president of marketing. Frost has more than 15 years of experience in the marketing arena, including senior-level positions within Fortune 500 companies. She will oversee the planning and execution of CCCU's marketing initiatives and develop programs that align with the company's strategic growth goals. Prior to CCCU, Frost was recently the director of marketing and business development for the $95 million Family First Credit Union in Hapeville, Ga.

The $910 million AMOCO Federal Credit Union in Texas City, Texas hired two employees.

Claudia Maldonado

Claudia Maldonado was hired as the new vice president of branch operations. Maldonado previously served as the assistant vice president of operations at the $957 million United Heritage Credit Union in Austin, Texas. Maldonado was responsible for managing and leading branch managers to successfully achieve set monthly and annual corporate goals. During her leadership at the credit union, she oversaw more than 70 staff members across five branch locations throughout the greater Austin area.

Joe Mayhew

Joe Mayhew was hired as vice president of lending. Mayhew has 12 years of credit union management experience in lending. Mayhew comes to AMOCO from the $697 million Noble Credit Union in Fresno, Calif., where he served as vice president of lending. At Noble, he was responsible for product development, pricing, marketing and retail delivery at the credit union.

The $1.1 billion Y-12 Federal Credit Union in Oak Ridge, Tenn., hired for three key positions.

Mike Niemeyer

Michael Niemeyer was hired as the director of business services, where he will manage all aspects of the member business services department. Niemeyer received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University and his master's of business administration from Miami University. He has worked in the financial services industry for more than 27 years and was previously employed by Atlantic Capital Bank in Knoxville, Tenn.

 

Doreen Wiseman

Doreen Wiseman was hired as manager, payment solutions and will manage Visa, debit and credit products, gift cards and real-time payment processing solutions. Wiseman previously worked for the $1.2 billion LGE Community Credit Union in Marietta, Ga., and has more than 17 years in the financial services field.

 

 

Herman Stevenson

Herman Stevenson was hired to serve as the credit union's dealer relations representative, where he will oversee all of the dealer programs and relationships throughout Y-12 FCU. Stevenson comes to Y-12 FCU from Louisiana and has worked in the industry the last 19 years.

Debbie Painter

The Kentucky Credit Union League selected Debbie Painter to be president/CEO, effective Jan. 1, 2019. Painter began her career with credit unions in 1979 at Fort Knox Federal Credit Union. Almost 20 years later, she joined the Kentucky Credit Union League staff and currently serves as EVP. Painter received a bachelor's of science degree from Sullivan University in business management and is a graduate of the Credit Union Management Institute and CUNA Management School.

Mel Gillen

Filene Research Institute named Mel Gillen senior growth director. In this new role, Gillen's focus will be on growing Filene's relationship with member credit unions and ensuring relevant research and programs are translated into action to help credit unions grow and thrive. Together with Filene's engagement team, Gillen will help lead growth and engagement strategies for Filene's diverse portfolio of member relationships to support the long-term goal of changing people's lives through ideas, truth and cooperation.
