Dan Schline will become the new president/CEO of the Carolinas Credit Union League, the organization's board of directors said Thursday.

Schline, who was selected following a national search conducted by CU Resources Inc., will assume the leadership post on July 1.

He will succeed the retiring John Radebaugh who has served as the league's president/CEO.

Schline has worked with credit unions for more than 20 years.

He joined the North Carolina Credit Union League in 1997 as director of governmental affairs. He also served in a variety of professional roles for the league, including senior vice president.

In 2014 Schline was part of the team that facilitated consolidation of the North Carolina league and the South Carolina Credit Union League.

He currently serves as executive vice president/COO of CCUL.

“In Dan Schline we have someone well positioned to lead the League in the years to come,” said Linda Weatherford, CCUL board chair and president/CEO of the $158 million SPC Credit Union in Hartsville, S.C. “He brings great passion for the work credit unions are doing and has the vision to ensure the league's continued success.”

Weatherford also praised Radebaugh's contributions to the Carolinas credit union movement.

“John Radebaugh has been a strong, steady credit union leader in the Carolinas for the past fifteen years. He played a major role in the consolidation of the North Carolina and South Carolina leagues and has done an exceptional job of building consensus among the states' credit unions,” she said. “He leaves a legacy of integrity and passionate commitment that will serve the Carolinas and credit union movement for many years.”
