Credit unions from coast to coast, as well as CUSOs and vendors, began 2018 by making new hires and promotions. Plus, one credit union mourned the passing of a long-time volunteer.

The $1.5 billion HAPO Community Credit Union in Richland, Wash., regrettably announced William T. Tyler, a dear friend and a member of the credit union for more than 49 years, passed away on Dec. 3, 2017. He served for 33 years on the credit union’s board of directors and 10 years on the credit committee, and exemplified service to others. Tyler was a resident of Richland since 1948. He served in the United States Navy and was employed on the Hanford Reservation as a health physics technician for 26 years. He later was manager, health physics and served in that capacity for eight years.
