Credit unions in Texas and Maine this week named new CEOs.

Mary Beth Spuck was appointed president/CEO of the $475 million Resource One Credit Union, the Dallas-based credit union said. She succeeds Jim Brisendine who served as president/CEO of Resource One CU for more than four decades And in Maine, the $162 million Otis Federal Credit Union appointed Kim Turner president/CEO effective Jan. 1. She succeeds Otis FCU President/CEO Roland Poirier who is retiring after 31 years of service.

Spuck previously served as the chief administrative officer for the $1.2 billion TwinStar Credit Union in Lacey, Wash. She also worked as TwinStar's vice president of organizational development and as its associate vice president/director of retail sales.

She launched her credit union career at the $1.2 billion Inspirus Credit Union in Tukwila, Wash., (formerly School Employees Credit Union of Washington), in 1988 where she served as a cash services supervisor.

“Ms. Spuck brings an abundance of professional skill and qualifications in both organizational development and sales and will be an immense asset to Resource One,” Tony Goebel, Resource One CU board chair said in a prepared statement. “We look forward to working with Ms. Spuck to find additional ways to increase value to our members.”

Resource One, which has nearly 60,000 members, was originally chartered to serve Sears, Roebuck, and Co. and has evolved to serve a community field of membership in two of the largest counties in Texas.

Turner joined Otis FCU in December 2014 as vice president of operations and compliance. She also worked as an account relationship manager at Synergent, a Maine Credit Union League subsidiary that provides operational solutions to credit unions.

“Kim [Turner]'s passion for members and her ideal of member service [as being] top priority has shown since her first being hired,” Poirier said in a prepared statement. “She constantly works to make the credit union a better organization for our members. She has dedicated [significant] time to further educating herself over the last four years, specifically about credit unions and management.”

Based in the town of Jay, Otis FCU serves more than 10,000 members.
