The National Credit Union Foundation is hosting a Twitter chat event for credit unions to promote National Financial Literacy Month in April.

During the Twitter chat scheduled for April 5, credit unions and their employees are welcome to share best practices, activities and examples of their financial education efforts for their members of all ages, identifying needs, tracking and measuring, partnerships and more.

The Tweets begin at 3 p.m. Central Time, 2 p.m. Eastern Time.

The $2.8 billion Coastal Federal Credit Union in Raleigh, N.C. will be featured in the Twitter chat as a special guest, the Foundation said in a prepared statement.

During the Twitter chat, the Foundation will posting eight questions to spur Tweet conversations about financial education.

“In April and all year long, credit unions excel at strengthening their member's financial well-being through their various financial education efforts,” said Christopher Morris, Foundation Director of Communications.

“Financial education is central to leveraging the credit union difference and close to our work at the Foundation. As you can imagine then, we are very excited to lead this discussion on how credit unions improve people's financial futures providing financial education in communities across the country.”

In addition to credit unions, the live streaming conversation is free and open to anyone with a Twitter account.

For this Twitter chat, the hashtag will be #foundationchat. Twitter users can either type #foundationchat into the Twitter search box or utilize other tools such as TweetChat to follow the conversation.
