The $3.1 billion Redwood Credit Union in Santa Rosa, Calif., hired Lisa Heath as EVP/chief financial and risk officer. Heath will oversee the accounting and finance departments, risk management and wealth management services, as well as RCU Services Group, RCU's wholly-owned subsidiary that offers auto sales and insurance services. She will be instrumental in the development of the credit union's long-term planning, programs and strategies. Heath comes to RCU from the $4.4 billion OnPoint Community Credit Union in Portland, Ore., where she served as controller.
The $8 million Florist Federal Credit Union in Roswell, N.M., hired Cisco Malpartida Smith as president/CEO. Malpartida Smith most recently served as vice president of products and strategy for GTE Financial and prior to that Malpartida Smith worked for Boeing Employees' Credit Union in Tukwila, Wash., in various management roles. Smith's credit union career spans a broad set of positions in strategy, marketing, lending, business development, product development, branch operations, political advocacy and community relations. Smith is replacing Kenn Bell, who is retiring as president/CEO after six years of service at the credit union.

The $511 million Direct Federal Credit Union in Needham, Mass., named Brian Medeiros vice president of information technology. In this role, he will manage the organization's information and technology functions while driving its mission to provide immediate access and delivery to members. Medeiros brings more than 10 years of financial services experience and 24 years of IT experience to the position. Before joining Direct Federal, he served as the chief information officer for the New England Center for Children.
The $1.1 billion Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union based in Edgewood, Md., promoted Carol McBrien to EVP. McBrien has more than 24 years of experience serving the credit union, playing an integral role in its growth to more than $1 billion in assets and more than 119,000 members. She previously served the organization in several roles, including vice president – controller, vice president – internal audit and most recently nearly four years as SVP/CFO.
The $1 billion Greylock Federal Credit Union in Pittsfield, Mass., selected Pete Lopez as the newest member of the credit union's volunteer board of directors. Lopez fills the board seat vacated by Robert Coco who stepped down earlier this year. Lopez currently owns and operates The Fieldhouse at Canaan, an athletic training facility in Canaan, N.Y. Previously, he was vice president of IT products at Tyco International, Princeton, N.J. Lopez spent decades in senior management IT positions within the GE family of companies.
The $661 million Liberty Bay Credit Union in Braintree, Mass., hired Colin Murphy as vice president of client development. In his new role, Murphy will be responsible for developing new prospects, converting prospects to members and generating deposit growth, loan growth and the sale of ancillary products. He will work with the business development, client implementation and member services teams to successfully integrate new members into the credit union's portfolio.

The $1.9 billion Royal Credit Union in Eau Claire, Wis., named Karlee Wallin to small business lending officer. In this role, she will assist the vice president and business lending manager with overseeing and administering the small business lending program. She'll also be responsible for developing and managing small business loans and services relationships for existing and new members. Wallin joined Royal in September 2006.
The $3 billion Veridian Credit Union in Waterloo, Iowa hired Susan Halbach as systems administrator for Veridian InsuranceSM, an independent insurance agency located at Veridian. Halbach was most recently an insurance systems administrator for Lincoln Savings Bank. She has a degree in business administration from the University of Iowa.
The $1 billion Hiway Federal Credit Union in St. Paul, Minn., hired Dean Warzala as vice president of real estate. Warzala brings more than 25 years of experience in the mortgage industry, including origination, underwriting, operations, secondary markets, servicing and management. In his new role, he will be responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership to Hiway's team of experienced real estate professionals. He most recently provided strategic and operational leadership for the mortgage lending team at Royal Credit Union.
The $488 million Notre Dame Federal Credit Union in Notre Dame, Ind., hired Elizabeth Stoll as a mortgage loan originator. She will be responsible for facilitating new mortgage applications both for existing and new construction. Stoll has more than 32 years of experience in the mortgage industry. She brings her knowledge, professionalism, experience and passion for mortgage lending to the Notre Dame FCU team.
