Credit unions will have the opportunity to share how they celebrate the Yuletide Season through a "Special Holiday Edition" Twitter chat sponsored by the National Credit Union Foundation in Madison, Wis.
Starting at 3 p.m., Central time, on Thursday, Dec. 8, credit unions are welcome to post tweets to discuss their efforts to help staff, members and communities during the holiday season.
The foundation encourages credit unions to share best practices and examples of their efforts such as internal promotions, financial education, special member product and promotion and community outreach.

"Whether it's a skip-a-pay loan promotion, food or coat drives, custom financial education and more, credit unions can get in the holiday spirit by extending the 'people helping people' philosophy," Christopher Morris, director of communication for the foundation, said. "We're happy to lead this chat to see how credit unions are making an impact on people's lives during this special time of the year."
The $548 million Sunmark Federal Credit union in Latham, N.Y., will be featured in the Twitter chat as a special guest.
For this Twitter chat, the hashtag will be #foundationchat. Twitter users can either type #foundationchat into the Twitter search field or utilize other tools such as TweetChat to follow the conversation.
The @NCUFoundation account will be leading the Twitter chat discussion. Questions will be tweeted using a Q1, Q2, etc. format, which can be replied to with a corresponding A1, A2, etc. format. All questions and answers should contain the #foundationchat hashtag.
