This past week, HR departments at seven credit unions across the nation kept busy by promoting and hiring staff members. Plus, Tower FCU opened a new branch with updated services.

WEST

Two experienced financial services professionals recently joined the $1.5 billion Oregon Community Credit Union in Eugene, Ore. Dan Ripplinger was hired as vice president of business services. Ripplinger will be responsible for overseeing business product offerings and business lending. He comes to OCCU after serving more than nine years as director of business services for the $1 billion Oregon State Credit Union in Corvallis, Ore. Ripplinger has worked in the financial services industry for more than 12 years.

Heather Rolle was hired as director of card services. In this position, she will supervise a staff of seven responsible for OCCU's debit and credit card portfolio, ATM cards and non-OCCU ATM transactions. She comes to OCCU after serving for more than eight years as director of card services for the $20 billion Pentagon Federal Credit Union based in Alexandria, Va. Rolle has worked in the financial services industry for more than 23 years.

The $2.3 billion Sandia Laboratory Federal Credit Union in Albuquerque, N.M., promoted Mike Gorman to vice president of payment services. He will oversee credit and debit cards and all types of online and digital payment channels. Gorman has been with the credit union for 13 years, having previously served as compliance officer and treasury management officer.

MIDWEST

The $1.9 billion Royal Credit Union in Eau Claire, Wis., named six team members to vice president positions. Jeni Brantner started with Royal in March 2000. In her new role as the vice president of payment operations, she'll oversee the payment operations for the entire credit union including ACH, wires, credit, debit, and item and image processing. Sherri Jablonicky has worked at Royal since 1996. As vice president of branch operations – Wisconsin, she will be responsible for providing strategic direction for creating exceptional member experience, profitability and growth for the Chippewa Valley and Saint Croix Valley branch operations, member service center and deposit operations. Adam Kinnard has worked at Royal since 2001. As the vice president of IT operations and development, he will drive the development of new capabilities that lead Royal in the delivery of effective and innovative technology services and solutions to Royal members and employees. Tom Lea joined Royal in June 2005. As the vice president of IT infrastructure and security, he is responsible for the architecture, implementation and operation of Royal's technology infrastructure. This includes data centers, networks, core banking systems and information security. Jesse Smith has worked at Royal since 2005. As the vice president of consumer lending and servicing, he is responsible for the strategy, operation and performance of consumer lending and mortgage servicing. Brianne Meszaros has worked at Royal since 2000. In her new role as the vice president of branch operations – metro, she'll manage the strategic growth in the emerging metro market and provide leadership to the metro branch operations. She'll also serve as the Minnesota state/local/national legislative and regulatory credit union advocate.

The $1.9 billion Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union in St. Paul, Minn., hired Taylor R. Murray as vice president of branch services. Murray will oversee 28 statewide branches and guide their future direction. Larson is the next step in a three-part strategy to hire senior leadership for branch services, digital services and phone services. Murray begins in his new role Nov. 7.

The $3 billion Veridian Credit Union in Waterloo, Iowa promoted Lisa Morehouse to consumer lending relations underwriter. Morehouse, a resident of Waterloo, Iowa, has been employed at Veridian for 23 years, most recently as a loan officer.

EAST

Following an extensive search, the $441 million Greenwood Credit Union in Warwick, R.I., appointed Frederick Reinhardt (pictured) as president/CEO, effective Nov. 1. He will assume the leadership role, replacing Jim Irving, who will retire after 11 years of service. Reinhardt has more than 30 years of diverse senior level banking experience and has served since 2004 as chief lending officer of the $1.7 billion Navigant Credit Union.

The $568 million Align Credit Union in Lowell, Mass., promoted Andrew Patton to assistant vice president of commercial lending. Patton joined Align in 2014 as the Danvers branch manager and was promoted to assistant vice president in 2015. He is responsible for building and servicing business relationships on the North Shore and throughout the Greater Merrimack Valley. Patton has been in the financial industry for more than 12 years.

The $2.8 billion Tower Federal Credit Union in Laurel, Md., opened a new branch in Pasadena's Magothy Beach Plaza on Oct. 25 in an effort to upgrade services to its members in that area and provide a more convenient location. The branch features an updated look, a drive-thru, remote teller stations and a self-service coin counting machine. The Magothy Beach branch replaces the Tower branch on Fort Smallwood Road. Staff at the Fort Smallwood location have moved to the Magothy Beach branch.
