Credit unions will remain healthy over the next year as memberships continue to grow, CUNA Mutual Group Chief Economist Steve Rick predicted Oct. 18.

"The economy will continue to grow," Rick said at CUNA Mutual Group's annual Discovery Conference. "There won't be a recession."

Credit union membership is expected to increase 3.8% this year, slowing somewhat to 3.3% next year, Rick said. "Our membership growth has been on a tear," Rick said.
