Plus, SDDCU was named San Diego's best consecutive credit union for the 17th year in a row, and RTN FCU announced its 2016 scholarship winners.

EAST

executive moves credit unionRosemary Brinkley, board chair of the $878 million Educational Systems Federal Credit Union in Greenbelt, Md., was inducted into the African-American Credit Union Coalition's Hall of Fame during the AACUC's 18th Annual Conference on Aug. 5, 2016. The hall of fame honors African-American professionals and volunteers in the credit union movement who display unparalleled leadership, mentorship and professionalism. Brinkley has served on the board of directors of Educational Systems for more than 40 years. Throughout her tenure, she has led change by setting a positive example for members, employees and volunteers.

The $860 million RTN Federal Credit Union in Waltham, Mass., announced the 2016 recipients of its James A. Burley, Jr. Scholarship Awards. The scholarship awards totaling $10,000 are presented annually to three college-bound students whose parents are credit union members. 

executive moves credit unionSarah Wilkinson of Canton, Mass., received the top award of $5,000. She will be attending Union College in Schenectady, N.Y., this fall.

executive moves credit unionAlexandra Cataldo of Waltham earned $3,000 as the second place award recipient. She will be a freshman this fall at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va. Grant Dolan Hespeler of Andover, Mass., took home a third place award of $2,000.

 

MIDWEST

executive moves credit unionKevin Chiappetta rejoined the $1.4 billion Corporate Central Credit Union in Muskego, Wis., as SVP of investment services. Chiappetta has more than 30 years of experience in banking and financial services including a previous role at Corporate Central as the vice president of investments. Chiappetta will be leading Corporate Central's balance sheet management consulting practice to help members strategically position their portfolios, better manage their balance sheets, and provide robust education and expertise.

executive moves credit unionThe $2.1 billion United Federal Credit Union in St. Joseph, Mich., named Erin A. Hennessy SVP of marketing. Hennessy will champion the corporate image throughout UFCU's six-state footprint by providing leadership in marketing, advertising, public relations, community relations and product management. Hennessy was previously vice president of marketing at the $897 million Andigo Credit Union in Chicago.

executive moves credit unionChrystal Murphy of the $600 million LAFCU in Lansing, Mich., has been elected president of the Eaton Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors for a one-year term. Murphy, an Eaton Rapids native, has served on the Chamber board since 2012.

SOUTH

The $1.1 billion Georgia United Credit Union in Duluth, Ga., selected Ray Caldwell as the newest member of its supervisory committee. The supervisory committee reports to the board of directors and is responsible for overseeing the accuracy of record-keeping and protection of the credit union's assets. Caldwell has been a member of Georgia United since 2000 and brings more than 25 years of educational leadership and training program experience.

WEST

The $7.4 billion San Diego County Credit Union in San Diego has been named San Diego's best Credit Union for the 17th consecutive year by readers of The San Diego Union-Tribune. SDCCU also was selected in the recent 2016 Readers' Poll as San Diego's best financial planner and best home loan provider for the seventh year in a row, and best auto loan provider for the third year in a row.

VENDORS

executive moves credit unionTechnology consultant firm Samaha and Associates hired two senior consultants. Peter Palumbo Jr., who was most recently served as a senior manager for the PULSE Network/Discover Financial Services, started with Samaha and Associates Aug. 22.

executive moves credit unionIn April, Lori Koscki joined Samaha and Associates, leaving a senior account executive position at Discover's PULSE Network. She managed 30 key accounts in the community sector and was responsible for ATM network retention, volume growth, sales and overall customer satisfaction.

executive moves credit unionPayments processor TMG hired Kelly Mendenhall as vice president of product. Mendenhall will oversee strategy and execution for TMG's product developments and enhancements. He brings more than a decade of experience in the payments industry to his new role. Mendenhall will work closely with the TMG product team and leaders of various business units, along with each of TMG's AMC sister companies and strategic partners.
