BALANCE announced Thursday it has acquired Subcat Media's suite of youth and family financial education programs, expanding the generational scope of its 47-year mission to provide comprehensive financial education and counseling.

BALANCE, a non-profit based in Concord, Calif., will combine its financial wellness programs, educational resources, and housing and credit counseling with Subcat Media's youth programs, online modules, content library and social media insight.

As part of the acquisition, the Subcat Media staff will join the BALANCE team, remaining in Fullerton, Calif., and functioning as the company's new marketing division. They will also work to develop custom education programs for financial institutions, as well as provide product development support. Subcat Media's president and CEO, James Flores, will oversee the new division as vice president of marketing and education.
