The Northwest Credit Union Association and the Idaho Credit Union League announced a three-year partnership Monday to hold simultaneous annual membership meetings while jointly hosting the MAXX Convention starting in October 2017.
The MAXX Convention will showcase the best of the two leagues' heritage events, including the Northwest Association's annual dinner and auction benefiting Credit Unions 4 Kids, and the Idaho league's annual golf tournament.
The Northwest Association's Advocacy to the MAXX luncheon will spotlight the combined successes of credit unions in Washington, Oregon and Idaho.
“The underlining theme of MAXX celebrates cooperative credit unions and their ability to realize the possibilities,” Troy Stang, the Northwest Association's president/CEO, said. “This partnership will bring some of the nation's most innovative credit unions under one roof to accelerate and celebrate the value and impact they deliver to their 5.9 million members and the communities they serve.”
Next year's MAXX convention will return to Spokane, Wash., while the 2018 and 2019 venues will be announced later, according to a joint prepared statement.
“Collaboration is the cornerstone of the credit union movement,” Kathy Thomson, Idaho league president/CEO, said. “This partnership ensures MAXX convention attendees can expect best-in-class content, powerful speakers, a pre-eminent Strategic Link Trade Show, networking, a celebration of traditions and experience opportunities for the future.”
This is the second collaborative effort between the two leagues within the last 15 months.
Last year, the trade groups participated in a video conferencing training and networking initiative for nearly 150 credit union professionals across seven cities in Idaho, Oregon and Washington.
More than 60 marketing, business development and community outreach specialists launched the expansion of the Northwest Association's networking council program last August, while the compliance program drew 85 professionals from all three states via video conferencing in September.
