Five credit unions announced new hires and promotions last week, including Seven Seventeen Credit Union, which congratulated four employees on their steps up the ladder. Plus, TMG promoted five employees and made two new hires.

WEST

The $3 billion Redwood Credit Union in Santa Rosa, Calif., hired Terence Powell (pictured) as assistant vice president of wealth management. In his new role, Powell will help manage RCU's wealth management program, which is offered through CUSO Financial Services, LP.

The $580 million Clark County Credit Union in Las Vegas appointed Chad Heese to chief credit officer. Heese will be responsible for credit policy and compliance, review and management of the organization's loan portfolio, and managerial duties for loans. Heese has more than 20 years of experience in the banking industry.

SOUTH

The $1 billion Firstmark Credit Union in San Antonio, Texas hired two employees. Mike Grundon (pictured) was hired to serve as CFO. He brings 30 years of experience in financial services to the position, with 20 of those years spent in the credit union industry. He has expertise in investment management, asset and liability management, and growth strategies. 

Wendy Bryant-Beswick will assume the newly created role of chief retail officer. She will be responsible for transforming the organization's brand and retail experience for its members. She will also oversee all aspects of retail services and marketing.

The $2.9 billion TDECU in Lake Jackson, Texas hired Misti Flores (pictured below) as a wealth adviser. Flores is a seasoned adviser with more than 15 years of experience in the financial services industry.  Prior to joining TDECU, Flores worked for IBC Bank, State Farm and most recently at BBVA Compass.

MIDWEST

The $896 million Seven Seventeen Credit Union in Warren, Ohio promoted four employees. Donna Luzier was promoted to risk manager/bank secrecy act officer. Luzier has been with Seven Seventeen for 29 years. In her new position, she will develop fraud and risk management programs to help detect and deter fraud. As the bank secrecy act officer, she will coordinate the development, implementation and administration of the credit union's corporate-wide BSA program. Julie Redmond was promoted to mortgage loan consultant and will serve Trumbull County. She has been with Seven Seventeen for 12 years. In her new position, she will be responsible for working with home buyers to find mortgage solutions that fit their individual needs. Corey Davis has been promoted to collections manager. He has been with Seven Seventeen for 18 years. In his new position, he will be responsible for managing the collections department and ensuring effective collection of delinquent amounts while minimizing losses to the credit union. Terisa Slater has been promoted to recovery manager and has been with Seven Seventeen for ten years. In her new position, she will manage the recovery activities on all charge-off loans and shares. She will also be responsible for overseeing and protecting the credit union's interest from potential losses of property on foreclosure, legal and bankruptcy matters. 

VENDORS

Payments processor TMG announced changes and additions to its staff of financial experts. Karen Postma (pictured) was promoted to vice president of risk and consumer services. Postma has more than 15 years of experience in the payments industry and has been with TMG for 10 years. 

Robert Butler was promoted to vice president of operations. His responsibilities will include serving as an operational liaison for TMG's business process improvement team and overseeing the payment processor's platform services and quality assurance initiatives. Butler brings more than 30 years of experience to the position.

Newly promoted to vice president of SmartGrowth, Jennifer Davis (pictured) has more than 15 years of experience in credit card issuing within the top 20 U.S. issuers and has advised more than 200 financial institutions. Davis joined TMG in 2014 as a portfolio strategy executive. She has been instrumental in developing portfolio management strategies to drive activation, utilization and balance growth for credit card portfolios.

Yvonne Stelpflug was promoted to vice president of client relations. Stelpflug has played an important role in the development of numerous mutually beneficial client relationships for the growing company since joining TMG in 2014. 

Jeanna McBain (pictured) was promoted to vice president, controller. Her department includes accounting, finance and billing. McBain joined TMG in 2013 as a controller, overseeing accounting for TMG as well as its sister company TMG Financial Services. She has more than a decade of experience in finance and accounting.

Nancy Didwell was hired as vice president of client relations. With nearly 30 years of experience in the payments industry, Didwell will bring additional industry expertise and insight to TMG. She previously worked at First Data, where she was responsible for managing relationships with group service providers and mid- to large-sized financial institutions.

Deborah Wieczorek (pictured) was hired as director of new client partnerships. Wieczorek will coordinate and lead sales activities for TMG's credit union partners. She will also support TMG's direct sales channel's strategic future, culture and leadership practices. She has more than 15 years of experience in the financial services industry.
