The Cornerstone Credit Union League said its Fort Worth Chapter of Credit Unions is participating in a fundraising event Saturday, July 23 to support the families of the five slain police officers and seven officers who were wounded in the Dallas shooting sniper attack on July 7.

The Fort Worth chapter has been working with the Tarrant County Law Enforcement Association on the fundraising event, which will be held at the Rock Woodfire Kitchen in Arlington, Texas.

The credit union chapter collected donations to buy commemorative decals that will be sold to raise funds. Commemorative T-shirts also will be sold.

Funds raised will go to the Dallas Police Association's Assist the Officers Foundation.

Four of the officers worked for the Dallas Police Department, which is part of the core membership of $357 million City Credit Union. A Dallas Area Rapid Transit police officer was also killed.

The Dallas PD helped found the credit union in 1942. The 42,178-member credit union also serves people who work for other Dallas city government departments.

City CU has also been involved in raising funds to aid the families of the fallen and wounded police officers.
