This past week, numerous credit unions announced new hires and promotions. Plus, an audit professional received a prestigious honor, and Cardtronics hired a new executive.
WEST
The 2016 Terry McEachern Internal Auditor of the Year award was presented to Jill Meznarich (pictured) at the Association of Credit Union Internal Auditors’ annual conference in June. Meznarich is the chief audit executive of the $12 billion Schools First Federal Credit Union in Santa Ana, Calif. The Terry McEachern Internal Auditor of the Year Award was established in 1995 by Royal Credit Union to recognize Terry McEachern as the founder and first president of the ACUIA.
SOUTH
The $147 million Park View Federal Credit Union in Harrisonburg, Va., promoted Aaron Brydge to mortgage loan advisor. Brydge began at PVFCU in 2012 as a member advisor. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Mennonite University and resides in Harrisonburg.
The $504 million 121 Financial Credit Union in Jacksonville, Fla., hired Jane L. Scofield (pictured) as CFO. Scofield comes to 121 Financial with more than 20 years of experience in private and public accounting. She has served as an in-house and outsourced CFO, controller and senior level management consultant for a wide range of privately-held companies.
The $2.9 billion TDECU in Lake Jackson, Texashired Alan Colley as associate general counsel. Colley will be working with TDECU’s senior vice president, chief risk officer and general counsel on employment issues, contract negotiations, vendor agreements, and merger and acquisition research.
The $2 billion Truliant Federal Credit Union in Winston-Salem, N.C., promoted two employees. Emily Averill (pictured) was promoted to the newly-created position of area manager, central region. Averill will oversee the North Point and Victory locations in addition to continuing to directly manage the Truliant Way Member Financial Center. She joined Truliant in 2003 and has served in several roles throughout the credit union. Debra Dunkel (pictured below) was promoted to area manager for the Southern region. Dunkel will oversee Truliant’s Uptown and Ballantyne member financial centers and continue to manage its Tyvola location. Dunkel joined Truliant in 2006 as a member service representative at its Tyvola location and has served in several roles throughout the credit union.
EAST
The $1.3 billion Workers’ Credit Union in Fitchburg, Mass., hired Beckie L. Perlupo as vice president, assistant treasurer and controller. Perlupo will oversee the overall operations of the accounting department. She was previously with Eastern Bank in Lynn, Mass. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in finance from Bentley College and received a certificate in business information systems from Southern New Hampshire University.
The $4.4 billion Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., hired Jeannie Lynch-O’Connor as director of consumer lending. Lynch-O’Connor is an accomplished lending professional with more than 25 years of experience. She was most recently the vice president of a lending department at a community bank in New Jersey.
MIDWEST
The $638 million Ideal Credit Union in Woodbury, Minn.,hired Herbert “Jay” Hall as director of branch operations. Prior to joining Ideal, he worked as a branch manager for the $4.3 billion Wings Financial Credit Union in Apple Valley, Minn., and coordinated the opening of the new Wings office in Woodbury. Hall has more than 27 years of experience in the financial services industry.
The $574 million Community 1st Credit Union in Ottumwa, Iowa promoted Greg Hanshaw (pictured) to president/CEO. Hanshaw has served as interim president/CEO since mid-March. Before that, he held the positions of COO and director of human resources. Before coming to the credit union, Hanshaw was human resource manager at Dexter Company in Fairfield and served 31 years in the Iowa Army National Guard.
The $770 million Community Choice Credit Union in Farmington Hills, Mich., hired one employee and promoted two others. Rodger Rowland was hired as vice president of retail delivery. In this position, Rowland will be responsible for leading the sales and service development initiatives for the credit union and its 15 member centers. Donna Siejutt was promoted from vice president of human resources to chief human resources officer. In this role, Siejutt will provide leadership in developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall strategic direction of Community Choice. Teresa Mayer was promoted from vice president of lending to chief lending officer. She will be responsible for the overall strategic administration of the credit union’s lending functions, project management, information technology, information services and operations.
VENDORS
Cardtronics, Inc. hired Roger Craig as general counsel and secretary. Craig replaces Michael Keller, who recently announced his retirement. Craig will be responsible for all legal, corporate governance and compliance matters. Keller, having served as general counsel since 2001, will assist in a smooth transition and will continue on as an adviser for Cardtronics.
