This summer, Notre Dame Federal Credit Union will be sweetening the lives of locals in its new sweet ride.

In celebration of its 75th Anniversary, the area credit union's Sweet Treats bicycle will hit the streets to  share treats with the South Bend community during upcoming First Friday events downtown and other local events this summer and fall.

“We are excited to share 'Sweet Treats' with the community we've been a part of for 75 years. We plan to use the bike to give back and support the great residents and organizations in the Michiana area,” Notre Dame FCU Director of Market Intelligence Doug Briones said.

Recently, to support the Episcopal Cathedral of St. James' 24th Annual Shortcakes on the Blacktop, Notre Dame FCU employees made their first delivery of delicious shortcake, fresh strawberries, ice cream and whipped topping.  All proceeds from the sale of the shortcakes went to A Rosie Place – O'Hana Heritage Foundation, Bridges Out of Poverty and St. Margaret's House.
