Raleigh locals will now be able to hear their favorite bands at the Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek.

The $2.6 billion credit union recently acquired the naming rights to Walnut Creek Amphitheater, the Triangle area's largest outdoor amphitheater.

"I'm thrilled by this unique opportunity to strengthen Coastal's brand and to engage our community in a new entertaining way," said Chuck Purvis, president/CEO Coastal FCU.

In addition, credit union members who use their Go Green credit or debit cards get the $5 Coastal Fast Lane entrance fee, which allows early access to events and shorter lines, waived.

"We're joining forces with Coastal and integrating their brand into the excitement of live entertainment in the Triangle region," Marc Abend, senior vice president of Live Nation venue sales operations said. "It's the perfect partnership to connect with music fans and the Raleigh community."

According to Coastal Marketing Strategy/Communication Manager Joe Mecca, the sponsorship represented an opportunity to further build on the momentum of its brand push over the past two years.

"Having our name on the Coastal Credit Union Music Park will help expose the Coastal brand to more people, including a number that we might be missing through more traditional advertising like television or radio, " Mecca said.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the park was built by the City of Raleigh and has an average annual attendance of 300,000. Major touring acts including Aerosmith, Kanye West, Sting and the Zac Brown Band are just a few of the performers who have graced the stage of the open air venue.
