This past week, credit unions across the nation saw numerous employees take the next step in their careers. Plus, NAFCU and several CUSOs including Credit Union Student Choice hired new executives.
WEST
Jessica Courter (pictured) was hired as Poulsbo branch manager at the $165 million Peninsula Community Federal Credit Union in Shelton, Wash. Courter brings nine years of credit union experience, most recently serving as the assistant call center manager at the $1 billion Kitsap Credit Union in Bremerton, Wash.
MIDWEST
Rachael Reiling was promotedto business relationship manager at the $825 million SPIRE Credit Union in Falcon Heights, Minn. Reiling brings more than 11 years of financial services experience to the position. Before joining SPIRE in 2014, she worked at American Bank, working in every position at the branch before reaching management level.
The $512 million Financial Center First Credit Union in Indianapolis, Ind., hired Joan Kerulis as its new director of internal audit. She joins Financial Center with more than 32 years of experience in auditing, working most recently as the senior vice president of internal audit at Ameriana Bancorp.
The $471 million Notre Dame Federal Credit Union in Notre Dame, Ind., hired Timothy Isenberg as mortgage loan originator. Isenberg will be responsible for facilitating new mortgage applications. Isenberg brings 14 years of experience in conventional, FHA and new construction loans to his new position.
SOUTH
The $5.6 billion VyStar Credit Union in Jacksonville, Fla., hired John Tabor as VyStar Investment ServicesLPL financial advisor. Tabor will assist VIS in expanding the range and depth of services it can provide to deliver personalized, objective financial guidance to its members. He brings more than 30 years of financial experience to the position.
The $217 million Unity One Credit Union in Fort Worth, Texas hired Patty Revis (pictured) as director of human resources. She brings more than 20 years of experience in recruiting, talent development, employment branding and marketing. Revis also served on the board of directors for the Fort Worth Human Resource Management Association for more than five years, and has been a member for more than 10 years.
The $1.9 billion Truliant Federal Credit Union in Winston Salem, N.C., promoted Chris Murray to the new role of vice president of member financial centers. Murray will now be leading Truliant's growing network of more than 30 member financial centers. Murray joined Truliant in 2009 as manager of the High Point Member Financial Center.
The $458 million PrimeWay Federal Credit Union in Houston promoted three employees. Michelle Oshinski was promoted to chief culture officer. Oshinski will now be responsible for marketing and branch administration/operations. Oshinski joined PrimeWay in 2003 to lead marketing and business development initiatives. Michael Green was promoted to public relations and marketing manager. Green spent the last six years as the credit union's public and community relations manager, and has more than 17 years of experience in the finance industry. Kevin Hillendahl was promoted to senior vice president of lending. Hillendahl has been at PrimeWay for 18 years, serving in the credit union's lending department and ensuring the strategic growth and financial profitability of all lending operations.
EAST
The $19.4 billion Pentagon Federal Credit Union in Alexandria, Va.,promoted Stanley Spence to senior vice president. During his nearly 32 years with PenFed, Spence has developed extensive experience with issues involving consumer credit, bankruptcy, collections, negotiable instruments, financial institution law, employment law, contracts and residential real estate law.
CUSOs
Credit Union Student Choice hired two employees. Thresa Tyus joined Credit Union Student Choice as manager of strategic partnerships. Tyus will take on client management and acquisition responsibilities in Pennsylvania and the Rocky Mountain and Northwest Pacific regions. The Credit Union Student Choice marketing department also added Monica Giesler as marketing analyst. Giesler will help Credit Union Student Choice client credit unions identify opportunities, analyze trends and develop plans to efficiently yield new loans and desired portfolio performance and growth.
PolicyWorks hired Margaret Smith, CPA, CIA, CFE, CRMA as director of audit services. Smith joined PolicyWorks following six years as a senior internal auditor with PenFed in Omaha, Neb. She also has auditing experience with McGladrey & Pullen, L.L.P. as well as two Omaha-based insurance companies.
Michigan Business Connection in Ann Arbor, Mich., hired Kirk Albert as senior vice president of commercial banking. Kirk will now be responsible for new business development and the loan origination process activities at MBC. Kirk most recently served as the market president for KeyBank after holding several leadership and strategic positions throughout his 25-year banking career.
TRADES
NAFCU promoted Alexander Monterrubio from regulatory affairs counsel to director of regulatory affairs. Monterrubio will oversee the regulatory affairs staff, which issues regulatory alerts to NAFCU members. He will also be the staff liaison to federal regulatory agencies.
