From the CFPB to millennial engagement and cybersecurity, readers shared opinions on a variety of topics this past week.

Here's what they had to say.

Neither Congress nor any trade group is going to change King Cordray's view of what he wants to do. His is a one-man fiefdom, and until he is replaced or the CFPB is run by a board, nothing will change.

Exactly right. And how many in Congress who signed the letter voted for Dodd-Frank? And how many who voted for Dodd-Frank do the credit union PACs give money to?

Unfortunately, the NCUA's Credit Union Online site, which is used to submit the Call Report, relies on Silverlight. Maybe the NCUA can heed this advice and redesign its website to stop relying on a program that could ultimately be compromised at the user level, which could affect credit unions?

I guess distance really doesn't matter if it's a federal credit union offering a good refinance option to pay off your auto loan. What else is bothering you in the offer?

With the possible exception of #3, these strategies should woo more war babies, baby boomers, Gen Xers, Gen Yers, Gen Zers and alien life forms. Focusing strictly on age as a marketing stratification is short-sighted, as octogenarians use electronic banking channels and (gasp) even text message their children. Not to mention that it's the classic definition of age discrimination.

I love this article! I have been speaking to Symitar Episys User Groups about why it is important to attach millennials to their credit unions. Don't forget to keep things simple, that way it transcends the generations. With option #2 you must do your due diligence to verify that you are not complicating your processes.

Love the analogy here. The member effort expectation for millennials in our research also shows that millennials dread the effort they'll have to put into obtaining financial services.

Great work and move that allows the industry to speak and vote for its own needs.
